The world economy is rough right now. With layoff and a slowdown in hiring, there are loads of developers out there who have the skills to be productive, but some of them may not have the tools. While I’m not in a position to hire those people, I have donated to Arnie Rowland’s cause to try to match unemployed developers with non-profit projects. While the developer isn’t going to get paid in cash, they are getting tens of thousands of dollars worth of software, which isn’t bad.
