$0 budget + donated development time = 200,000 downloads

OpenNETCF.org has been around for a few years now, but it still surprises me how much we’ve accomplished with so little.  Our flagship product, the Smart Device Framework is extremely popular, and in total we’ve had over 200,000 combined downloads of binary and source packages of all of our offerings.  Imagine what we could accomplish if we actually did this full time.  Anyone know where we could get angel funding or someone with deep pockets and a love for Compact Framework R&D?

  1. Just a big thank you for what you guys have accomplished! It’s truly amazing what you guys have managed to do. I hope somebody with money recognizes your immense value with regards to Microsoft mobility.

  2. I have found your resources very useful when learning and developing for mobile. I have a question though, how will .net 2.0 affect your project? How much of the functionality in your innovations and extentions are going to become part of the framework?

  3. Have you considered getting in touch with Rick Segal. I believe his VC group are looking for mobile related projects to invest in. http://ricksegal.typepad.com/pmv/

He is worth dropping a line to if you are serious about it!

By the way keep up the good work and don’t let the likes of Josh Roberts, the President of Eye-On Solutions, LLC get away with stealing software! You are doing right by seaking legal advice! Hopefully it will kick them in the right direction.

    Good Luck
